Question 1

I would like to suggest a new merchant. How do I do this?

Accepted Answer

To suggest a new merchant, click the green Suggest a merchant button above the map or click directly on the URL /en/merchant_proposals/new and fill out the form.

The Collective will then be notified of your request and will add the merchant to OpenStreetMap.

Question 2

How to convince a merchant?

Accepted Answer

Print (or have printed) a few flyers (article on Flyer Bank-Exit). Help them create a Monero wallet with CakeWallet (tutorial on CakeWallet and Monero). Once a year, enter their Monero sales into the ready-made Excel file (tutorial on Company accountings). Once done, add them to the map using the green Suggest a merchant button on /en/map/3/27.355053897693452/3.1640625 or directly on the /en/merchant_proposals/new form!

Question 3

I would like to be removed from the map. How do I do this?

Accepted Answer

If you are currently listed on the Collective's map and no longer wish to appear, you must submit a removal request directly to OpenStreetMap. The Bank-Exit website does not own the data and only retrieves public and open-source information from their site.

Please note that after deletion from OpenStreetMap, the merchant may still appear on the Collective's map for a few hours, pending the next data synchronization.

Question 4

I added a merchant on OpenStreetMap, but he still doesn't appear on the Collective's map. Why?

Accepted Answer

The Collective's map is automatically updated four times a day. If you recently added a merchant to OpenStreetMap, you'll have to wait for the next refresh, which can take up to six hours.

Note that you can refresh the data yourself from the map by clicking ⋮ > Refresh merchants data (next to the green "Suggest a merchant" button).

Question 5

I want to embed the map on my website. How do I do this?

Accepted Answer

You can embed the map on your website either from the URL or through an iframe. Go to the Embed map on your website page to access the documentation and generate your personalized version of the map.

Question 6

I want to export merchants to access offline from my application. How can I do that?

Accepted Answer

You can export your current merchant search by clicking the three dots at the top of the form, then selecting Download merchants.

Question 7

What is the difference between the map and the directory?

Accepted Answer

The map lists merchants with precise geolocation (latitude and longitude). The directory lists businesses that don't have a specific address, either because they want to remain anonymous or because the service is available for delivery to an entire area or country. For example, an alternative media outlet or an online business.
